Is the sound muted or low?
Action:
Check if the sound in muted or turned down low:
1) On the right edge of the Task Bar (the bar with the 'Start' Button), there is a speaker icon. This is often located next to the clock.
2) Click once on the speaker icon.
3) If the 'Muted' box is selected, clear it.
4) If the volume is not muted, increase the volume in the audio mixer:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Programs' and select 'Accessories'.
c) Select 'Multimedia' and select 'Sound Recorder'. (The 'Sound - Sound Recorder' dialog box appears.)

d) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Audio Properties'. (The 'Audio Properties' dialog box appears.)

e) In the 'Playback' group, move the 'Volume' slider to the right to increase the volume.
f) Click 'OK'.
